Spicy Keto Japanese Tofu Skewers

A fiery keto-friendly appetizer featuring grilled tofu skewers with a spicy Japanese twist.

Ingredients:


  • 400g firm tofu, drained and pressed
  • 2 tablespoons tamari (or soy sauce)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Sriracha
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon wasabi paste
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 2 green onions, sliced thinly
  • Bamboo skewers, soaked in water for 30 minutes

Cooking Instructions


  1. Cut the tofu into 1-inch cubes and set aside.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together tamari, sesame oil, rice vinegar, Sriracha, ginger, garlic, and wasabi paste to create a marinade.
  3. Add the tofu cubes to the marinade, ensuring each piece is well-coated. Marinate for at least 10 minutes.
  4. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  5. Thread the marinated tofu cubes onto the soaked bamboo skewers.
  6. Grill the skewers for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they develop a nice char.
  7. Sprinkle the grilled skewers with sesame seeds and sliced green onions before serving.
