Bacon-Wrapped Scallops

Tender sea scallops wrapped in crispy bacon, served with a light glaze for a perfect balance of flavor. A delicious appetizer or main dish!

Ingredients:


  • 12 large sea scallops
  • 6 slices of bacon, cut in half
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
  • Toothpicks, for securing
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Cooking Instructions


  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Partially Cook the Bacon: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices for about 3-4 minutes, just until they begin to render fat but are still pliable. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. Wrap the Scallops: Wrap each scallop with a half-slice of bacon and secure with a toothpick.
  4. Season and Glaze: Place the wrapped scallops on the prepared baking sheet. Brush with olive oil and, if using, drizzle with maple syrup or honey. Sprinkle with black pepper and smoked paprika.
  5. Bake: Bake for 15-18 minutes, turning once halfway through, until the bacon is crispy and the scallops are cooked through.
  6. Serve: Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh parsley. Serve with lemon wedges for a bright, fresh contrast.
